Gotta keep it Camo. Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I’m a certified Camo head. I feasted on the military pattern in 2011 so it only seems fitting that my top five list would contain a variety of camo releases from this year.Now, without further ado here is my top 5 list in no particular order.
1. IN4MATION x NEW ERA
「Endless Bummer」59Fifty Fitted Cap
There is a rampant misconception out there, that being that most people see camo as being a one dimensional pattern. Only to be worn with certain colors, or patterns, and only to be worn at certain times of year. Case and point can be seen in this IN4MATION drop from late summer, it takes the classic Woodland Camo pattern and juxtaposes it with a Red brim. Perfecto!
2. HELLO KITTY x NEW ERA Camo 59Fifty Fitted Cap
Yes indeedy, camo is a pattern that got its reputation for being the preferred choice of bad men. Used in the killing fields by Marines, Sailor’s and Green Berets, the perfect accessory for a military man. That’s what makes this cap so cool, who would have ever thunk of putting Hello Kitty and Camo together? Genius!
3. 10DEEP x NEW ERA
「Nouveau Stomp」59Fifty Fitted Cap
Camo is as versatile a pattern as there is. It comes in every imaginable shape, size, color, and form. Have yet to see a camo pattern that caught your fancy? Just wait because its out there. This 10Deep release demonstrates just how versatile camo can be, this cap switches around the traditional Woodland colors and introduces a slick camo pattern. Nice.
4. HUF x NEW ERA
「Felt Circle」59Fifty Fitted Cap
Okay, I am the first to admit that Camo can get a little boring if just left alone. The colors can just melt together and fall into the background which is of course what they are suppose to do, the pattern was originally designed to help soldiers blend in with their surroundings. By all appearances HUF wasn’t having any of that, this Orange felt Huf logo ensured that this fitted would pop, regardless of your surroundings. Can you see me now?
4. REBEL8 x NEW ERA
「Bad News Tigers」59Fifty Fitted Cap
What camo list would be complete without the infamous tiger pattern? Especially built for jungle warfare, tiger camo is one of the more unique patterns that you will ever see. It was a real treat to see REBEL8 adopt the tiger camo style for this fitted cap release, adding their own touch with the Black / Grey color and Orange pop. Eye of the tiger.
