The St.Louis Cardinals won their eleventh World Series title on Friday, beating the Texas Rangers in game seven of the Fall Classic. A great achievment considering how close they came to missing the post season altogether. St.Louis isn’t often mentioned as one of major league baseballs storied franchises but I would argue they most certainly should be. Consider the fact that the Cardinals are second only to the vaunted Yankees when it comes to MLB championships. Countless legends have donned the Cardinals uniform, the list is endless. A list that bears names such as Bob Gibson, Curt Flood, Ozzie Newsome, Lou Brock, Albert Pujols, and Stan Musial to name a few. If these credentials don’t convince you, then I give up because only a die hard Cardinal hater would try to refute my argument.
